228 peace memorial day

Long time no see!!How are you recently?
We had started our school and said goodbye to winter vacation. I'm so happy to start the school cause I really miss my friends!!
There's a special day named "228 peace memorial day"coming next Tuesday,it's a day for memorizing a sad story that happened in 1947.During the old Taiwan,people got a fight with police and then initiated a fierce fight between the public and the government.Some one died and some people got caught,it was a really dark time in Taiwan.
Even though it was an incident 70years ago and people now don't really know how the victims felt during the time but now we still got a day off for memorizing the incident and remind people to be thankful for having a such fortunate life. I think it's a really important thing for us to learn about.

ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me about the 2/28 holiday. one of the other teachers asked me to write about it in the last Newsletter, in case you have forgotten some of the details since history class.
